Awards Night

MTV Video Music Awards or VMA is an annual pop culture awards show which honors the top music videos of the year. Last year (2008), Britney Spears won a moonman. Britney have won all her three nominations: “Best Pop Video,” “Best Female Video,” and “Video of the Year.” “Piece of Me” is the 2008 MTV Video of the Year. Russell Brand will host again this year’s VMA. A lot of performers will be seen on the awards night including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Pink, Green Day, Jay-Z, Muse and the newest pop singer who hit CMT – Taylor Swift. Aside from that, there will be battle of the bands which will be held on September 11, at the Fillmore, Irving Plaza. The top 3 bands who will compete are the rock quartet “Red Directors,” the rock quartet “MeTalkPretty,” and all-female pop/folk/rock trio “The Shells.” The winner will be awarded as “The Best Breakout New York City Artist” and this will be announced on VMA night.
