The 82nd Academy Awards Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges, and Kathryn Bigelow are the big winners of the 82nd Academy Awards. The stunning Sandra Bullock took home the “Best Actress” award for her performance in “The Blind Side” beating out Meryl Streep, the only actress to receive 16 Oscar nominations, and Helen Mirren. Sandra plays plays a mom who turns Michael Oher, a disadvantaged teenager into a famous football star. Sandra showed her love to other nominees. She also thanked her mother, her husband, and even mention George Clooney, who, she alleged, once threw her into a pool.

Jeff Bridges won the “Best Actor” award for his performance as a broken-down country singer in “Crazy Heart.” The 60-year old actor, who plays Bad Blake in the said film also gave him the Golden Globe “Best Actor” and Screen Actors Guild Award (SAG) for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role. During his acceptance speech, he raised the Oscar to the sky and addressed his late parents, Lloyd and Dorothy.
Kathryn Bigelow accepted the “Best Director” award for war film “The Hurt Locker.” She is the first woman to win this award. Her film won five other Oscars awards including “Best Picture,” Best Sound Editing, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Original Screenplay.
